The 8th annual Defending Freedom Memorial Re-Dedication Ceremony will be held on May 4th this year. This community event is open to the public. This memorial is meant to honor our brave Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, and Sailors who have sacrificed their lives in the name of freedom. We will gather on this day to pay respect to their families for the loss and pain they have suffered. It is always our wish that there will not be a need to add more names to the memorial in future years. This year our wish came true, partly. Nevada was fortunate enough to have not lost any service members in combat last year; unfortunately there are still many service members and veterans who have lost their lives here at home. So this year we will be honoring military and veterans who have passed away here at home as well as those we have lost in the past . This event is sponsored by Mr. Phil Randazzo and the Nevada Benefits Foundation.
