Ft. Lewis, WA welcomed home 4,600 heroes and their families. More than 10,000 attended to honor these true Americans...

1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, welcomed home more than 4,600 Soldiers on 27 Oct, 2005. The morning started by honoring the 45 Soldiers who gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for their Country. I saw proud parents, spouses, children, and friends and relatives who flew from around the Country to pay tribute to these fallen. They were honored with an amazing Memorial made from marble sent home from Iraq. It was beautiful!

From there, the Soldiers were in formation for the redeployment ceremony. I saw hundreds of years of tradition.

At Noon, the party got started. Everyone from the Seattle Seahawk players and cheerleaders to seven different bands performing for the troops and their families. Everyone was awake and lively (Red Bull donated over 1,000 cans of Red Bull) and families got to relax and enjoy each others company.

I was proud to be invited and part of the event. Thank you Col Brown and the entire Stryker Brigade. God Bless America.
